Akino Kondoh

Akino Kondoh is originally a native of Chiba, Japan. In 2003, she graduated from Tama Art University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Graphic Design. Before graduating, Kondoh-san was the recipient of the '2nd AX Manga Newcomer's Award / Encouragement Award' with the manga piece “Kayoko Kobayashi.” After obtaining her degree, her unique art style and perspective began being displayed on a national, and then international level; shown in art exhibitions around the world. Currently, she is working as a cartoonist and contemporary artist.

Nina Paley

 Nina Paley (b. 1968, USA) is a longtime veteran of syndicated comic strips, creating "Fluff" (Universal Press Syndicate), "The Hots" (King Features), and her own alternative weekly "Nina's Adventures." In 1998 she began making independent animated festival films, including the controversial yet popular environmental short, "The Stork." In 2002 Nina followed her then-husband to Trivandrum, India, where she read her first Ramayana. This inspired her first feature, Sita Sings the Blues, which she animated and produced single-handedly over the course of 5 years on a home computer. Nina teaches at Parsons School of Design in Manhattan and is a 2006 Guggenheim Fellow.

M. Alice LeGrow

 M. Alice LeGrow is a freelance artist and the creator of TOKYOPOP's seven-volume graphic novel series Bizenghast. She has been featured on Teen People's "What's Hot List" and in the 2006 HarperCollins book Mangaka America: Manga By America's Hottest Artists. Bizenghast currently appears in bookstores in more than a dozen countries and languages and has garnered fans from as far away as Latvia and Hungary. In addition to comics, M. Alice also competes internationally in cosplay competitions and spends much of her free time designing clothing.

Lea Hernandez

 Lea Hernandez is a twenty-plus years comics veteran who has published in traditional print and led the charge to publish comics on the web. Her graphic novel series include Texas Steampunk, the tart pop satire Rumble Girls (which was the first print comic series to move to the web) and the "90% true" webcomic Near-Life Experience. Her short comic, "Ribbons Undone" was part of the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning "Comic Book Tattoo" anthology. Lea is a single mom of two teenagers, and lives in San Antonio, Texas.

Dirk I. Tiede

 Webcomics pioneer Dirk I. Tiede is the creator of the graphic novel series, Paradigm Shift and has been drawing comics for as long as he can remember. In addition to print collections, he continues to serialize his comics online and is a founding contributor to premiere comics portal Modern Tales. His artwork is showcased in the books Toon Art: The Graphic Art of Digital Cartooning and Webcomics, appears the documentary Adventures In Digital Comics, and was featured in Season 3 of NBC’s Heroes. He relocated from Chicago to Boston's North Shore in 2008 where he continues to work as a professional cartoonist and freelance illustrator.

Juri Hayasaka

Juri Hayasaka came to United States from Japan in 2004 to attend the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She graduated 2008 with Marcel Vertie award. She was also nominated to Society of Illustrators Annual Student Award in 2009. Juri currently works as a Fantasy/Anime Illustrator and is located in NJ.
